The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology welcomes Dr. Matt Aronoff as a new Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry.  Dr. Aronoff joins UNM from a post-doctoral research position at ETH Zurich in Switzerland.  He had previously studied in New Mexico, receiving a B.A. from St. John’s College in Santa Fe before obtaining a B.S. from Fort Lewis College and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Aronoff’s research at UNM will combine organic synthesis with the cross-disciplinary techniques of chemical biology to develop innovative and creative chemical tools and novel techniques to study post-translational modifications of peptides and proteins.
