Research

My chemical education research focuses on using learning and study techniques in introductory level chemistry classes to increase student success. I started out as a bio major, completely terrified of chemistry. During my general chemistry I class I realized that chemistry is actually pretty cool and began to enjoy finding out the “why” behind the world around me. In graduate school here at UNM, I fell in love with teaching and helping others discover the joy in chemistry. I serve as the coordinator of the Atomic Start Program and the Parachute course where I can combine my passion for chemistry and for teaching to help students succeed.
