Two CCB members presented at New Mexico Higher Education Assessment & Retention (NMHEAR) conference on February 16, 2023:

Development of a Concept Inventory Test for the Assessment of Learning

This presentation discusses the process of validating a laboratory inventory test being used as an instrument for measuring student conceptual learning gains from a general education laboratory sequence and a STEM initiative project. The validation process includes the use of item key analysis, reliability analysis, and exploratory factor analysis.

Learning How to Learn: How a Study Skills module can set students up for student success in chemistry

Students enter college with different backgrounds and experiences and many struggle with the fast-paced intensity of introductory STEM courses. We introduced a Study Skills and Test-Taking module to the Foundations of Chemistry course, helping students develop skills that can be applied to future courses.
