The Nanoscience and Programmable Theranostics Research Lab
At the intersection of chemistry and biomedical engineering, the Noureddine research group aims at developing programmable nanotheranostics designed to improve the delivery, efficacy, and safety of therapeutics. We engineer silica-based nanoparticles, lipid-inorganic hybrid systems, metal-biomolecular assemblies, and other functional nanomaterials to control where and when therapeutic agents act in the body. By combining materials chemistry with biomedical engineering, our approach aims to address key limitations of conventional therapeutics, including poor tissue targeting, short biological half-life, off-target effects, and dose-limiting toxicity. We are particularly interested in translating these platforms toward targeted and long-acting delivery of therapeutic molecules, including applications in oncology, metabolic disease, and genetic/rare diseases.Teaching
