UNM Newsroom recently published a feature highlighting the partnership between the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabiliation (DVR), and United Way of North Central New Mexico. This partnership created an internship for New Mexico high school students to conduct research in the Greenberg lab under PI Jake Greenberg.
The article showcases how the collaboration with DVR and United Way is providing students with paid, hands-on research experience while contributing to an important public health project monitoring mosquitoes and other disease-carrying insects. It's a great example of the impact the department is making through workforce development, community engagement, while also doing scientific research.
We are proud of what Dr. Greenberg, DVR, and United Way built together!
