Seminar:

Delocalization in Paramagnetic Organic Donor-Acceptor Molecules: Models for Electron Transfer/Transport and Novel Photophysics

March 14, 2013

Dave Shultz

The electronic structure of metal complexes of biradical donor-acceptor ligands will be presented. Molecular structure-property relationships centering on electronic- and magnetic exchange coupling have been studied and comparisons will be made to other donor-bridge-acceptor molecular architectures having far weaker couplings. We hypothesize that our findings can be utilized in the design of new photo-induced electron transfer systems in which the charge-separated excited state lifetime is modulated by exchange coupling(s).
