Richard Holder has decided to retire from UNM this May after 43 years on our faculty. Richard joined the Chemistry department after a sojourn east to Yale and Vassar, returning to the wide open spaces of the mountain West in 1974. Dr. Holder has served UNM as professor, department chair, dean of graduate studies, deputy provost and president of the faculty Senate, among other roles. He has seen his former students join our faculty ranks and mentored countless administrators and department chairs, myself included.
